Odyssia, the Mystical Sky Capital

Once every two millenia in the realm of World's Odyssey, it is said that the mystical sky capital, Odyssia, will appear in the sky. W.O.D.'s setting involves the reckoning as the floating capital appears for just the second time in their realm's existence. As the world becomes infested by bugs, the glorious symbol of heaven, too, becomes tainted...

Adventurer

In W.O.D.'s backstory, players are tasked to take on the role as Adventurers, a class belonging to those who believe it is their destiny to discover the mystical sky capital, Odyssia. With this momentous task comes the freedom to carve whichever path players choose, creating a limtless supply of eventual outcomes.

Entoma

Bugs that mysteriously appear throughout World's Odyssey after it suddenly reactivates. These "bugs" encroach upon humans and animals alike; first, devouring their psyches, then their flesh. Inhabitants of the realm of W.O.D. soon refer to these horrific beings as the Entoma.

Buggy

There is a selected group of people, including Shina, that can somehow control the Entoma. It is unknown what enables these users to manipulate the precocious creatures, but the Buggies float like fairies, orbiting closely to their respective hosts.

Martyrs

World's Odyssey's in-game monsters that were kissed by the curse of the Entoma, driving them to madness before mutating them into grotesque beasts.

Reality Object

Strange items that appear in World's Odyssey without explanation, almost like they were dropped in from the real world. Their origins are unknown, but they give Arata clues to unravel the mystery for how the bug infestation came to be.

Diary
A book found inside of World's Odyssey. Scribbled throughout its pages are cryptic, messy notes. Written in one of the corners of its pages is an address...

Entoma Queen

The Entoma assume many forms, most of which are monsters that suffer as they die a slow, uneasy death. Some, however, are empowered by the corruption, taking ghastly, massive shapes. Shina refers to them as the "Entoma Queens" due to their resemblance to queen ants and queen bees. Once they are defeated, however, Arata is able to summon them for use in battle.

Heaven's Messenger

The final boss of World's Odyssey. In the game's backstory, it serves as the protector of Odyssia, the mystical sky capital. Once an adventurer overcomes Heaven's Messenger, it acknowledges their strength, and allows one entrance into Odyssia.

The House of Beginning

This is the house in which Shina wakes up, located on the outskirts of Heartis. By the time of Shina's awakening, she discovers the gigantic rift formed in the sky--an unfortunate aftermath of the Entoma Scourge.

Heartis Palace

The kingdom where the royal family of Heartis, the realm's largest monarchy, resides. Despite its vile bug infestation, it still stands in all of its grandeur. However, it is mostly vacant, save for the vicious Martyrs that nest it its winding halls. Lily Hopes is Heartis' princess, though her abiltiy to reign is prevented by the heavy presence of the Entoma.

The Royal Shipyard of Sturfil

A shipyard located within Sturfil, the Kingdom by the Sea. Its facility contains an entire port, with docks lining its cerulean sea. Before the Entoma Scourge, it was a bustling center of commerce, but sailors and settlers alike have long since abandoned its docks. As an industrial center, it has numerous hallways and switches that were used to move cargo to and from ships.

Rizaria Forest

A lush forest inhabited by the Elves. Those who enter are often never seen again, lost in its seemingly endless rows of trees. Outsiders are rarely welcomed, given the Elven people's fierce devotion to secrecy. In the heart of the forest is a giant tree that generates the world's supply of mana, as well as an array of decrepit ruins that are guarded by the Elves. It is rumored that the path to Odyssia lies somewhere in this forest, which leads Shina to its misty paths...

Strain Area

As Shina and her party progress through their adventure, they encounter a mysterious realm that hadn't been included in the original version of the game. In the Strain Area, esoteric beings known only as the "Ludens" reside, though it is unclear whether they are friends or foes...

Ending Engage

Although W.O.D. is an MMMORPG, there is a true ending that triggers only if players can defeat Heaven's Messenger in combat. When this occurs, their consciousness is automatically logged out of the game, allowing players to return to the real world. It was designed as a fail-safe feature, though many are unaware of its inclusion.

In "Death end re;Quest," it is Shina's only means of escaping back to reality.
